Sports Injuries: Avoiding Avoidance

March 23, 2011

When you thing of the most dangerous sport for little Tommy or Sandy to play, what comes to mind? Most people will say football. It’s a collision sport, and no one wants their future doctor or astronaut’s brain to be concussed by that 14 year old linebacker who has been held back a few times.

Well, in all actuality, the good ole bicycle causes twice as many injuries as the pigskin. Football is even safer than basketball, where contact is avoided more than the plague.

So what’s the bottom line?

Suit up Tommy and Sandy in football gear before you let them anywhere near their two-wheeler.

Just kidding.

Injuries happen, and they’re going to happen whether your child is on her bike, the football field, the basketball court, or even the rugby pitch, so suit up Sandy and put her in at wide receiver!
