After Another Short Break, “Not Much Equipment Games” returns – Bear, Hunter, Ninja!

November 16, 2010

Ages:  2-100

Participants:  As many as you have!

Time Frame:  As long as you want!

Materials:  Just some friends and imaginations

Set-up:  Divide your total number of participants into two equal teams, lined up back to back

This game is the modified, active version of the timeless classic “Rock, Paper, Scissors”.  The contestants face back to back, one yells out loud “Bear, Ninja, Hunter!”, and all turn around to face one another in an even line.  Each contestant chooses his or her own identity of a bear, hunter, or ninja — he or she must either make a claw sign to be a bear, use finger guns to represent the hunter, or strike a ninja pose to be the ninja.  Now the rules go as follows:  Hunter shoots bear.  Bear eats ninja.  Ninja kills hunter.  Simple as that!

You can keep this game as going for as long as you and your players would like.  Keep an ongoing score for each team until one hits a preset high score mark or knock players out each turn as they lose until only one team has any player(s) remaining.  This game is great for any location, age group, or group size.  It’s flexible, simple, imaginative, and best of all, fun!
